The situation in Jamshedpur is under control and returning to normalcy after yesterday’s clash between two communities. Night curfew was imposed in entire city of Jamshedpur. Around 125 people have been arrested and curfew has been relaxed for fours hours from 1 PM to 5 PM in the city except areas under five police stations – Ajadnagar, Mango, Ulidih, Sakchi and of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College. Schools and colleges are closed today and all examinations scheduled for today and tomorrow has been postponed.
The trouble started day before yesterday when three bike born miscreants, belonging to a particular community teased girls in a mela. When they were chased by the crowds, they fired in air while fleeing. Yesterday Vishwa Hindu Parishad -VHP, had called Jamshedpur bandh against the incident, which was marred by violence from both sides. In controlling the violence , ASP Sailendra Barnwal, DSP Animesh Nathwani and Inspector Satendra Singh were injured.
