Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia today presented Rs 53, 000-crore budget for 2018-19 in the Assembly, which primarily focuses on environment, health and education.
Presenting the Budget, Mr Sisodia said, for the first time, we are bringing “Green budget” under which 26-point programme has been included such as power, environment and transport.
“Delhi Budget has gone up from Rs 30,900-crore to Rs 53000-crore in three years,” the Finance Minister said.
Calling it a green budget to make Delhi pollution free, Mr Sisodia said 1000 electric buses will be purchased. He also said there will be a 50 percent reduction in registration fees for the registration of CNG cars. He said Delhi government will launch 26 point programme under Delhi green budget.
Following are the key points of the Delhi budget 2018-19:
1. Allocation of 13 per cent of the total budget to the municipality. A separate budget of Rs. 1,000 crore for repair of damaged Roads of corporation.
2. 1,000 display meters of pollutants will be planted to keep a check on air pollution.
3. To bring 1,000 electric buses and Delhi. After China, Delhi will become the largest fleet of the electric buses.
4. Installation of more than 150 CCTV in every government school, which will allow parents to see their children through the internet.
5. Rs. 6,729 crore allocated for the health sector in its 2018-19 budget, which is 12.7 per cent of the total.
6. Rs. 403 crore had been allocated for Mohalla Clinics and Polyclinics.
7. For senior citizens a plan under Chief Minister’s pilgrimage plan has been proposed.
8. CNG fit automobiles will be affordable in Delhi. The company fitted CNG cars to get 50 per cent discount in the registration fee.
9. A 26 point green budget has been proposed.
10. SMCs to get a fund of Rs. 5 lakh for expenses on books, teaching innovation and small maintenance works.
