Along with others, school going children have also been stranded at homes for about three months due to the lockdown imposed to mitigate the Covid-19 outbreak. Many students who are willing to study, are unable to do so, as there are no books.

To find a way out, an organization in Mumbai has taken an innovative initiative.

Sion Friends Circle, is an organisation which has come forward with an initiative to help the needy students. They are collecting textbooks and other academic books for needy students who can collect the same from their hand-cart stall, free of cost.

Those students who wish to donate their previous year’s textbooks and workbooks can also do so. The stall will be placed at various locations everyday in and around Sion area of Mumbai till August and students who cannot afford new books can find this helpful. Parents are also finding it very beneficial as this is saving money on new books and old books are helping needy students.
