New Delhi
A Delhi Court on Friday reserved its order on a joint application moved by BJP leader Shazia Ilmi and Congress leader Kapil Sibal’s son Amit Sibal in which it was submitted that Shazia Ilmi has made an apology to Senior Advocate Amit Sibal in a 2013 criminal defamation case which was filed by Sibal for her remarks when she was a member of Aam Aadmi Party.
The trial court on September 20, 2014 has put all the accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, Sazia Ilmi and Advocate Prashant Bhushan on trial for the charge under section 500 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Last month Kejriwal and Sisodia has apologised for making “unfounded allegations” against Sibal in a letter and court has acquitted Kejriwal and Sisodia on March 19 when Lawyer Amit Sibal accepted their plea.
