In Chhattisgarh, a senior tribal leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, Nandkumar Sai joined the Congress party.
Sai, the first leader of the opposition in the state of Chhattisgarh, quit the BJP yesterday.
He had been a member of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha from Chhattisgarh and was also appointed as the Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes.
The development is seen as a big political move as the senior tribal leader has quit BJP when the party has been gearing up for state assembly polls due in November this year.
