It has been alleged that during Mateen tenure as Waqf chief Waqf lands were leased out at through away prices. The notices have been issued after a complaint by an NGO Ali Sena which claimed that during tenure of Mateen Waqf properties have been badly mismanaged. The NGO head MA Chand had also filed several RTI in this regards. He got startling revelation from the Waqf board. Chand alleged that in the village punjabkhot near Narela 62 Bigha of Waqf land was leased to builder at the rate of 25 paise per square meter. The current rate of the land is reported to be over one lakh per square meter. He also alleged that some influential people have grabbed waqf land for construction of a studio. He demanded further investigation in whole matter.
