Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu today accused opposition parties of running a politically motivated campaign against Union Minister Gen. V K Singh for his recent remarks against Dalits. Talking to reporters outside Parliament, Mr. Naidu said there was nothing against any caste or individual in Minister’s comments. He said the Congress and the BSP are playing what he called competitive caste politics over the issue.
He also took exception to some political party’s objection in the Rajya Sabha yesterday on the entry of the Minister in the House. Mr. Naidu said Gen. Singh has every right to attend Parliament under the rule adding that such campaign is injustice to him. V K Singh had reportedly made controversial remarks in October following the killing of two Dalit children in Haryana.
