Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chancellor of Germany are attending the 4th Indo-German consultations and addressing the business leaders at the summit at Berlin. The two leaders will also hold ministerial level talks on various sectors at the consultations.
The consultations will be followed by a joint declaration. The Indian Prime Minister will also call on the President Frank Walter Steinmeier at Castle Believue before leaving for Madrid.
Earlier today, Mr. Modi was given a ceremonial welcome at the German Chancellory.
Yesterday, Mr, Modi discussed issues relating to trade, investment, security and the role of both the nations in maintaining peace in South-Asia region with the German Chancellor. The Chancellor had appreciated the fast track mechanism for the FDI projects which had earned upto two billion dollars for the past two years.
The two leaders also discussed the issues relating to Brexit and the consequences thereafter. During the conversation, Mr. Modi appreciated the presence of Germany in Afganistan to provide stability and underlined the need for reconciliation.
Issues of climate change were also discussed and the two leaders observed the possibilities of including the same in the G-20 context.
