Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted the people of China on the occasion of their 67th National Day. Posting his greetings on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo, Mr Modi highlighted the strategic relationship between the two Asian superpowers.
Mr Modi said, at a time when the world looks towards Asia, the progress and prosperity of China and India and their close cooperation have the potential to shape a peaceful and stable future for Asia. The Prime Minister said, this is the vision he shares with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang. Mr Modi said, the relations between the two nations date back to centuries, encompassing spiritualism, learning, art, trade and respect for each other’s civilization and shared prosperity.
He said, in the recent times, both nations have deepened the engagement across the full spectrum of the ties and laid emphasis on deepening mutual trust and confidence and expansion of people-to-people ties. He said, both countries will continue their endeavours in this direction.
Mr Modi said, both countries reflect, in many ways, similar aspirations, challenges and opportunities and can be inspired by each other’s successes.
