Prime Minister NARENDRA MODI today said that education should not only be inclusive, but also be equitable. He said, that is why today the country is making technology like Talking Books and Audio Books a part of education.
He was speaking after launching multiple key initiatives in the education sector during the inaugural conclave of Shikshak Parv.
Highlighting the role of teachers, Mr Modi said, they do not consider their work as a mere profession but teaching for them is a sacred duty.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the private sector to come forward and contribute their bit in the educational sector.
Prime Minister launched multiple key initiatives in the education sector during the inaugural conclave of Shikshak Parv.
Indian Sign Language Dictionary – an audio and text embedded sign language video for the hearing impaired in conformity with Universal Design of Learning, Talking Books which are audio books for the visually impaired and School Quality Assurance and Assessment Framework of Central Board of Secondary Education were launched on the occasion.
Mr Modi also launched NISHTHA teachers’ training programme for NIPUN Bharat and Vidyanjali portal for facilitating education volunteers, donors and Corporate Social Responsibility contributors for school development.
Mr Modi said, Nishtha 3.0 will encourage competency-based teaching, art integration and creative and critical thinking. He said, the nation is preparing its teachers for these changes through the Nishtha training programme.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that National Digital Educational Architecture i.e., N-DEAR is going to play a big role by eliminating inequality in education.
The Prime Minister said, the initiatives launched will shape the future of the education sector. One of the initiatives, School Quality Assessment and Assurance will not only make education competitive, but will also make students future-ready. He congratulated the teachers who received National Awards and lauded their work under difficult circumstances.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Ministers of State for Education Annpurna Devi, Dr. Subhas Sarkar and Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh were present on this occasion.
