Central Reserve Police Force, CRPF has said pellet guns were fired in Kashmir when situation went out of control and all options were exhausted. Director general of CRPF, Durga Prasad said this in response to media queries regarding controversy over use of pellet guns in Kashmir valley.
He said, CRPF is examining alternative versions for pellet guns available worldwide to identify less lethal options. Mr Prasad said, the situation is returning to normal. He said, over 1000 CRPF personnel were injured in stone pelting and over 50 in grenade attack.
