Parliament to pass Citizenship (Amendment) Bill soon: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill will be passed in the Parliament to accord Indian citizenship to all Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Jain and Buddhist refugees.

Addressing a public rally organized by the West Bengal BJP in Kolkata today, Mr. Shah alleged that the ruling TMC was misleading people about the NRC.

The Home Minister and BJP President said that West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee is making false propaganda on the matter. He assured that there is no reason for panic. He added that despite all opposition, the Citizenship Amendment Bill will be passed in the Parliament soon.

Mr. Shah firmly said that illegal infiltrators will be pushed back for the safety and security of the country. The Home Minister alleged that the West Bengal Chief Minister is patronizing infiltrations for vote banks politics. He also criticized the TMC Government for deterioration of law and order in the state.

Mr. Shah said that by repealing Article 370 of the Constitution, the Prime Minister has fulfilled the dream of the son of the soil of Bengal Shyama Prasad Mukherjee who fought for the integration of Kashmir.
