NEW DELHI: Amid the opposition demand of the JPC probe into the 2 G spectrum allocation scam, the Public Account Committee (PAC) of Parliament, headed by senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, has invited views and suggestions on the 2G issue.

Joshi has also called a meeting of the PAC on 27th of this month to hear depositions from invited people on the issue. The notification comes in the midst of the Opposition demand of a JPC probe into the scam. Prime minister has alsom expressed his willingness to depose before the PAC.

The government has reiterated that discussion and debate is the only way to resolve the 2G Spectrum issue in the Parliament. Talking to reporters here, Senior Congress leader and Union Minister Anand Sharma charged Opposition of disrupting Parliamentary proceedings in the winter session by sticking to its demand for a JPC Probe in the 2G Spectrum case. Terming Prime Minister’s offer to appear in front of the Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee as unprecedented, Sharma said that the Government was transparent and clear on the issue.

He expressed hope that the Opposition will accept Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s offer to hold a special session of Parliament before the budget session to discuss the issue.

Earlier Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee demanded an apology from the Opposition, accusing it of "destroying" Parliament after they rejected his offer of a special session to discuss the JPC issue on 2G scam.

"In the entire winter session, they (Opposition) did not allow any opportunity for any discussion on any issue….They have created deadlock in Parliament. They have destroyed the institution. They should apologise to the nation," Mukherjee told reporters.

However  the BJP has rejected UPA’s offer of a special Parliament session to debate the 2G scam. The party stuck to its demand for a Joint Parliament Committee probe into the issue. Party spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said in Jammu that a JPC probe would bring out everything.
