India and Jordan have responsibility to bring peace in the world: King of Jordan

INDIAN Prime Minister Narendra Modi today hoped that challenges like violence and terrorism could be tackled through strengths of the heritage, value and message of the religion and their principles. He said that no religion preached people to be intolerant and violent. Addressing an event on the theme ‘Islamic Heritage: Promoting Understanding and Moderation’ in New Delhi here, Mr Modi said, no religion teach people to be intolerant and violent and those who carry barbaric attack against innocent people can never belong to any region.
He said, the soul of religion can never be inhuman as every tradition and sects are meant for promoting human values.
He said, the most urgent need is that the youth should be linked to humanitarian Islam on one side and on the other hand can use modern science for progress.
Slamming those who misuse religion for radicalisation, he said that the extremism only damages the cause of that religion for which they claim to work.He said that fight against terrorism is not a fight against any religion and that no religion advocates terrorism.
Prime Minister said that Unity in Diversity is the unique characteristic of this country. He also said that country believes in ‘Vasu Dev Kutumb’. He stressed that Indian democracy is celebrations of our age-old plurality.
Mr Modi said, the soil of India has nurtured all regions and faiths and diversity and plurality of culture is the identity of India.
He said, Indian democracy is a celebration of India’s age old plurality.
The Prime Minister said, India is spreading the message of peace and faith across the globe.
In his address King of Jordan Abdullah II said, India and Jordan have shared responsibility to bring peace in the world.
He said, there is a need to give the youth a future with prosperity and security. He stressed on the need to fight against hatred and violence. The event also witnessed the release of the Urdu translation of a book titled ‘A Thinking Person’s Guide to Islam’. The book was authored by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad bin Talal, a cousin of the King.The King is known for his global initiative to fight radicalisation and terrorism.
