NIA attaches residential house of separatist leader Asiya Andrabi

National Investigation Agency (NIA) Wednesday attached the residential house of separatist leader Syedah Asiya Andrabi, at Soura area in Srinagar outskirts. The house has been attached under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Asiya Andrabi heads the separatist group “Dukhtaran-e-Millat”, who is currently lodged at Tihar jail.

The NIA action came in connection with terrorism funding case investigation. According to the order issued by NIA’s Chief Investigating Officer Vikas Katheria at Srinagar Camp, the said house cannot be transferred, sold or otherwise dealt in any manner with prior permission. The house is registered in the name of mother in law of Ms Andrabi in the state revenue records.

The order approved by the DGP, J&K Dilbagh Singh was posted at the entrance of the house located in Soura Srinagar. According to the order, the investigation agency has a reason to believe that the property represents proceeds of “terrorism”, and her house was used by the Dukhtaran-e-Millat for “furtherance of terrorist activities”.
