The commission has asked the state government to submit a report on the deaths within two weeks. The commission said the deaths amount to serious violation of human rights, if the allegations turn out to be true.

Meanwhile, the State government has admitted lack of infrastructure in the B.C.Roy Children hospital here for the death of 21 babies in the last three days.   State Health Secretary M.N.Roy said that there was no negligence on the part of treatment of those babies.

Roy said that most of the victims came to the hospital at the very last stage with acute respiratory trouble, septicemia and low birth weight problem.   Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee, who also holds the Health portfolio, ordered an inquiry over the death of the babies and the inquiry committee has submitted its report to the Government Friday.
