Nepalese Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that the Himalayan Nation attaches special priority to its relations with India and China. He warned political leaders who have been using the relations with neighbouring countries as a tool for achieving power and addressing their interests.

The Foreign Minister said this after inaugurating a seminar on enhancing national security through defence and diplomacy organised by the Army Command and Staff College in Kathmandu yesterday. Underlining the need for using diplomacy as the base for national defence, Mr Mahat said that Nepal’s geographical and caste diversities have contributed to the strengthening of national unity and national security.
