A statement from the Directorate of Health Services informed that the State also recorded 411 new recovered cases in the last 24 hours, with this the total recovered cases have reached 19,596.

24 more succumbed to the infections, taking the total number of fatalities from COVID 19 infection to 379 so far.

The Central government has provided equipment for two Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Plants and these equipment were airlifted on Wednesday evening. Two PSA oxygen Plants are being set up at Churachandpur and Thoubal district of Manipur with the assistance from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The equipments for these plants along with 10 oxygen concentrators for distribution to different hospitals were airlifted to Imphal from Delhi by an Indian Air Force flight (IL76 Aircraft).

The Churachandpur unit will have the generation capacity of 200 litres per minute (LPM) while the plant of Thoubal will be of 100 LPM. The equipment which have arrived this evening included air compressors, air dryers, air receivers, oxygen storage tanks, air pipes, cable treys, earthing strips, electrical power panels, servo voltage stabilizers, servo oil, UPS, etc. The consignments was by a team of the State Government including cabinet ministers.

Meanwhile, the State Chief Minister N. Biren Singh expressed thankfulness to the Central government providing such equipment. Through social media handling, the Chief Minister said that the government have already started the civil work at their respective sites at Thoubal and Churachandpur and in just a matter of a few days, the installation of these two oxygen plants will be completed. This will significantly improve our oxygen producing capacity in the State.
