In Meghalaya, one COVID-19 patient expired today taking the total number of fatalities to eight while 106 new COVID-19 cases were registered.

Director of Health Services, Dr Aman War said out of the new 106 new COVID-19 cases, 64 were from East Khasi Hills district which includes 26 Armed Force personnel and 38 civilians.

Three each from East Jaintia and Ri-Bhoi district, 16 from West Khasi Hills district, nine from West Garo Hills district which includes three Armed Force personnel and six civilians, ten Armed Force personnel from South Garo Hills district and one from North Garo Hills district.

Seven COVID 19 patients also recovered today. So far the total number of recoveries stands at 776.

With a total of 1,133 active cases, 776 recovered and eight deceased the total number of confirmed cases in Meghalaya stands at 1,917.
