Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has instructed that State Disaster Response Team should be appointed at each Divisional location across the State. Addressing a meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority today in Mumbai, the Chief Minister suggested that every district Commissionerate and Municipalities should also prepare teams for immediate rescue work in disaster at their level. He also directed to spend the State disaster risk management fund effectively and to begin Konkan disaster mitigation works immediately.

In this meeting, Relief and Rehabilitation Principal Secretary Asim Gupta made a presentation on the expenditure of the State Disaster Risk Management Fund, Konkan disaster mitigation works, cost of rescue operations carried out on COVID and various occasions, e-panchnama, disaster friend, e-alert system, etc.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also directed officials to prepare a system so that the affected people should get compensation within 15 days. The Chief Minister also said that the continuous rain has been declared a natural calamity and immediate action should be taken to provide compensation.
