The Maharashtra Industry Minister, Subhash Desai, has said that the state has made all round progress in the industrial sector in the past two years and has been promoting the digital form of governance to facilitate easy processing and clearance of applications.
Talking to media persons after inaugurating state pavilion at the 36th edition of India International Trade Fair here at Pragati Maidan, the minister said in sync with the Fair’s theme of Digital India, the state’s theme is also Digital Maharashtra.
Desai pointed out that to help small artisans and handicrafts, as many as 14 clusters have been opened across the state so that they can promote, exhibit and sale their items. He disclosed that most of the departments of the state government have their own portals so that one gets all the necessary information there itself and can get the things done online.
Visitors coming to the state pavilion will get to see state’s rich flora and fauna, tourism and industrial progress through both digital as well as virtual form. As many as 80 stalls under the small scale category have put up their items for exhibition and sell. At the same time cultural programmes depicting rich culture of the state will be presented by its artistes.Meanwhile, Maharashtra Day will be celebrated at the fair on Nov. 26.
