In the Lok Sabha, Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma, BJP MP from West Delhi initiated the debate on the motion of thanks on the President’s address this afternoon. Mr Verma said the government is on the right path of development. He chided upon the Opposition for terming the BJP-led NDA Government as communal. He said that the original version of the Constitution contains images of Lord Shri Ram and Sita Devi and Hanuman and asked the Opposition if they term our Constitution as communal.

Delving upon various aspects of the government, Mr Verma also said that Opposition is indulging in vote bank politics.

Earlier, the Opposition led by Congress opposed Pravesh Verma to move the motion citing Election Commission banning him. The Congress, TMC and DMK members staged a walkout in protest after he was allowed to do so.
