kashmirJammu & Kashmir police has said they have arrested Sandeep Kumar, a close aide of slain Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Bashir Lashkari.Addressing media in Srinagar today Inspector General of Police Muneer Ahmad Khan said Police have busted a module of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) by arresting one Sandeep Kumar Sharma, alias Adil, who is the resident of Muzaffarnagar area of Uttar Pradesh.

Bashir Lashkari along with his aide was killed on 1st of July in an encounter with security forces in Dialgam area of Anantnag district. The IG said Sandeep Sharma, was in the same house where Lashkari took shelter.

He said that the militants of Lashkar took help of Sandeep to loot ATMs and for other such activities. IGP said that Sandeep was also involved in militant attack on policemen in Thajiwara Achabal in Anantnag that left six cops, including an SHO dead.

Mr. Khan said Sandeep was a criminal who got in touch with Lashkar through one Shakoor of north Kashmir’s Sopore.

IGP said Sandeep Sharma was detained for questioning after he was arrested from the house where Bashir Lashkari was killed.
