At a seminar organised by the Sahyog Cultural Society, in association with Milli Forum leader on Friday to condemned the unjust and dastardly air strikes on Libya.
Addressing the gathering Dr. Mahmoodur Rahman, former V-C, Aligarh Muslim University, said that the Western Powers had forfeited their claim to be champions of a civilized society. Dr Rahman attacked the interference in the internal affairs of Libya and cautioned that this would only fuel the fire of anti-Western campaign in the Islamic and Arab world.
Sami Bubere, President of Sahyog Cultural Society, while condemning the air strikes, called upon the civilized, peaceful citizens of the world to unite against such inhuman behavior of these allied forces. We appreciate India’s stand against injustice and we hails UPA and NDA for demanding to stop bombing on Libya by NATO which targets innocent civilians. He said that people should not keep quiet as such act will embolden and invite the aggressors everywhere to invade a sovereign country and topple popular regimes. It is now exposed internationally with the fact that al-Qaeda’s overall number three is a Libyan known as Abu Yahya al-Libi, who has recently appeared on a half-hour videotape on jihadist forums claiming that the West is propping up Arab dictators and exhorting his countrymen to take up arms against Gaddafi. Also, there is the cache of al-Qaeda documents recovered in Iraq in 2007, containing information about some 700 foreign fighters, many of whom had volunteered to be suicide bombers. Around 20 per cent were from Libya – one of the smaller Arab countries in terms of population – and of these, most were from the east, the heartland of the opposition to Gaddafi
Adv. B.A. Desai appreciated India’s stand unanimously by UPA & NDA in Parliament to support Libya by condemning airstrikes by NATO and also appreciated Russia, China, Venezuela, Indonesia, Iran and other countries which are demanding to stop bombing on innocent civilians.
Many speakers also pointed out that the airstrikes in Libya was also a conspiracy of the Saudi Arabia to quell the Shia minorities’ movement in Bahrain. The speakers condemned Saudi Arabia for oppressing the Shia minority in that country too.
The Western allied forces US, UK, France and Denmark have joined hands with Al-Qaeda to topple the Gaddafi regime. They are helping the drug lords and armed suppliers to devastate and divide Libya, speakers observed in the light of recent investigation by international agencies that among the so called rebels in Libya had links with the terrorist outfits.
The speakers also condemned the joint investment ventures of Qataris, Saudis and Israelis and believe that these so-called Muslim countries are hand in gloves with the Zionist state. Their double standards must be exposed. The bluff of the Zionist state and their partners should be called. In Libya, under the disguise of rebellions, the International community came to know that arms came from the Qatar route and even for airstrike Qatar is used by NATO.
