The future of four-month-old BJP Government led by BS Yediyurappa will be decided tomorrow when the votes polled in the 15 constituencies will be counted. The resignation and disqualification of 15 MLAs from Congress and JD(S) led to the by-election on Thursday, recording a voter turnout of 67.91 per cent.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa had won the confidence motion on the 29th of July after the effective strength of the 225-member assembly came down to 208 following the disqualifications. At present, BJP has 105, Congress 66 and JD(S) 34 members in the assembly. BJP needs at least six more seats to continue in power with an Independent member already supporting it.
