Raipur court has extended the judicial remand of senior journalist Vinod Verma, who is now in jail after his arrest in connection with a sleaze CD case allegedly involving a minister of Chhattisgarh.

Verma was produced in the court today, which extended his judicial remand till November 27.

Earlier, the Judicial Magistrate First class and a session’s court had rejected the bail plea of Vinod Verma.

Verma was arrested by the Raipur police on October 27 after a person lodged a complaint in the state capital alleging that someone had tried to blackmail and extort money.

Subsequently, the police arrested Verma from his residence in Ghaziabad of Uttar Pradesh, claiming that they have also seized 500 CDs, pen drive and a laptop from his possession.
