The Haryana government has recommended departmental action against 15 police personnel, including 8 SHOs of Rohtak district, for dereliction of duty during the Jat reservation stir.
The recommendation came on the basis of a report by Parkash Singh Committee which probed the role of police and civil administration officials during the agitation. In its report submitted to the Chief Minister on the 13th of this month, the committee had indicted around 90 officers for deliberate negligence.
The Rohtak SP has been asked to initiate departmental action against the erring cops. Thirty people were killed in violence during the stir and there was extensive damage to properties.
