BANGALORE (AMN) Income Tax officials on Monday conducted raids at around 60 places in Karnataka, amidst allegations of horse-trading by both BJP and opposition. IT sources said, raids were targeted at the seven ruling BJP MLAs including ministers G Janardhana Reddy and G Karunakara Reddy.
official sources however said that the business premises of only three MLAs were raided mainly in Bangalore, Bellary and Hospet. Some mining companies were also raided by IT department.
Over 100 officials were involved in conducting the search operations in Bangalore, Bellary and Hospet
The legislators B. Nagendra, representing Kudligi, and T. H. Suresh Babu, elected from Kampli, both in the iron ore rich district of Bellary, the political stronghold of the Reddy brothers were also reportedly raided.
Raids are seen as bog jolt to the BJP government in Karnataka. BJP has a thin majority in the Assembly
