New Delhi: Maharashtra has once again become the number one state in the country in infrastructure building. In the last four years, 284 infrastructure projects have been sanctioned in the state and the cost of this project is Rs.1 lakh43 thousand 736 crore.

The central government’s Department of Economic Affairs has released information of infrastructure projects of the country till March 31, 2018. These infrastructure projects include government infrastructure projects, public sector projects, public private partnership projects and government infrastructure projects. These include infrastructure projects worth 5 to 50 crores and more.

The Department of Economic Affairs has published information on infrastructure projects in the country since 1990 on its website. In the last 28 years, 9 thousand and 68 infrastructure projects worth 54 lakh 65 thousand crore were undertaken in the country. As compared to this, Maharashtra’s 1144 infrastructure projects worth Rs 6lakh 19 thousand were undertaken for Maharashtra.

With this, Maharashtra is number one in the construction of infrastructure followed by Uttar Pradesh with 544 projects worth Rs 3,43,000 crore investment. Goa is at third position in the state’s infrastructure, 46 projects worth Rs 3 lakh 25 thousand crore were undertaken in the state. Arunachal Pradesh is in fourth place and Andhra Pradesh is fifth in the rankings.
