All India Muslim Majlis- e- Mushawarat, AIMMM, the apex body of Muslim confederation of major Muslim organizations has questioned Centre’s choice of Interlocutor for dialogue on Kashmir.
Mushawarat has also expressed surprise over the selection of Mr. Dineshwar Sharma, former IB chief who was associated with country major paramilitary and security forces in past and has opined that his association with intelligence agencies would haunt his role in dialogue process.
AIMMM President Navaid Hamid in a statement emphasized and urged that if government was sincere in initiating dialogue with all stake holders without prejudice, then the number of interlocutor should be raised to three with representation from Indian civil society and from the field of politics.
He has also demanded immediate release of separatists and all detained youths arrested in different protest in recent past and also withdrawal of cases against students and youths arrested in stone pelting incidents.
Mushawarat urged the appointed interlocutor to approach all those activists from Indian civil society who have been keenly involved and has worked for restoring peace in the state in recent past.
Mushawarat also of the opinion that, it would have been better if the government has seriously considered the past reports of all interlocutors as the situation in state has worsen in recent past.
