India’s Home minister Rajnath Singh today said Indian forces would not fire the first bullet along the border. A delegation of Pakistan rangers delegation today met the Home Minister in New Delhi. Mr Singh also said Pakistan must ensure that terrorists do not infiltrate into India from its territory. He said both the countries should be united in controlling terrorism.
The Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers are holding talks in New Delhi to reduce tension along the international border. Yesterday, BSF Director General DK Pathak said he was satisfied with the outcome of the meeting . On the sidelines of a function, Mr Pathak said the talks were cordial, pragmatic and forward-looking.
Meanwhile an Army jawan was seriously injured when Pakistani troops targeted him with a sniper fire along the Line of Control in Poonch District yesterday. According to defence sources, Pakistani troop resorted to unprovoked sniper firing on an Indian forward post in Krishna Ghati sector last evening which left the jawan injured seriously.
The firing was retaliated by the Indian Army and the exchange of fire lasted for a few minutes. The injured jawan has been admitted at the Command Hospital in Udhampur. This was 12th incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan in last 10 days in Jammu region.
