Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that that if any power challenges India’s sovereignty, the country’s armed forces will give it a befitting reply. He said, India had always used its armed for self-defense and it will continue to do so.
The Prime Minister was speaking at a function to mark the 75th anniversary of the formation of Azad Hind Government at Red Fort in Delhi today. Azad Hind government was founded on 21st October 1943 by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Mr Modi hoisted the national flag and unveiled the plaque in presence of INA veteran Lalti Ram, Netaji’s grand nephew Chandra Kumar Bose, Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma and several other dignitaries.
Paying rich tributes to Netaji who was the Prime Minister of Azad Hind Government, Mr. Modi said, Netaji had only one purpose of his life and that was India’s independence. The Prime Minister said, those who dedicated themselves for independence of the country were fortunate to have such a privilege but the people of later generations who did not get this opportunity, have a chance to live for the country and be dedicated for the development of the nation.
Mr. Modi said, balanced development of the country and opportunity for every Indian in nation building were part of the vision of the great leader. He said India is marching ahead but it is yet to scale new heights. Mr. Modi said 130 crore Indians are today moving ahead to build a new India which was also conceived by Netaji. He said, Netaji’s Azad Hind Government had drawn up schemes for all round development of the country. It had its own bank, its currency, its postage stamp and even its intelligence system.
The Prime Minister regretted if the country had the guidance of great leaders like Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the decades after independence the conditions would have been different. Mr. Modi announced that Rani Jhansi Regiment will complete its 75 years tomorrow.
