President, VP, PM greet people on Eid

India and many parts of south Asia including Pakistan and Bangladesh are celebrating festival of Eid-Ul-Fitr today. the marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramzan.The Eid Moon has been sighted in part of India Friday evening.
The announcement came following a meeting of Royat Hilal Committee headed by the Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid , Maulana Mufti Mohammed Mukkaram in New Delhi.
Eid al-Fitr celebration begins after the fasting month of Ramadan ends. During Ramadan, Muslims abstain from food, drinks and sexual pleasure from dawn to dusk, which is an exercise in self-restraint, intended to bring the faithful closer to God.
President, Vice President and Prime Minister have greeted the nation on occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.
In his message President Pranab Mukherjee expressed hope that the festival will unite people faith in harmony, solidarity and brotherhood and re-affirm the pride in the composite culture of the country.
Vice President , M.Hamid Ansari said the festival signifies the traditional expression of brotherhood and understanding between people and reaffirms the spirit of compassion, charity and generosity.
In his message on twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings on the conclusion of the holy month of Ramzan and upcoming Eid.
In Uttar Pradesh, Markazi Chand committee of Lucknow also made announcement of Eid celebrations Saturday. Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli of the apex body to decide the confirmation of moon visibility, said that special Eid Namaz will be offered in Eidgah Aishbagh
The administration has made elaborate security arrangements all over the state on Eid. Heavy security deployment has been made in sensitive areas of Varanasi, Allahabad, Lucknow, Meerut and Faizabad and at other places.
Strict vigil is being maintained specially upon the rumour mongers who may try to vitiate the social atmosphere through social media. Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, BSP chief Mayawati and all the senior political leaders have congratulated the Muslims over the festival of Eid.
