NEW DELHI: The former prime minister of India, HD Deve Gowda today called for the dismissal of the BJP government led by BS Yeddyurappa. 

Alleging Yeddyurappa government for rampant corruption, nepotism and communal discord, he cautioned “the Karnataka would go the Gujarat way under Narendra Modi if nothing was done to dismiss the government.”
 

The former prime minister gave a call for secular forces to unite and the state from “Operation Kamal” being conducted by the BJP government. Kamal in Hindi means lotus and the party symbol of the BJP.

Under “Operation Kamal” Gowda alleged that the BJP government was appointing its  sycophants as chairpersons of boards and corporations, marginalizing dissidents within the party, resorting to horse trading and encouraging illegal mining activities.
