Polling for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections concluded today in 102 Constituencies across 21 States and Union Territories with mixed voting percentage. Barring a few incidents of violence the polling was by and large peaceful. As per initial reports, overall about 62 per cent voting was recorded till 5 PM.

Along with Lok Sabha elections, single phase Legislative Assembly Elections were also held in Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

In Arunachal Pradesh, where polling was held for two Lok Sabha seats, over 63 voters exercised their franchise.

In Tamilnadu, where polling was held for all 39 parliamentary constituencies today, 62 per cent voting was recorded.

In West Bengal, where Lok Sabha polling is being held in all seven phases, polling was held in three seats of Alipurduars, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar. Overall more than 77 per cent votes were caste in the state today.

Uttar Pradesh is also going to polls in all seven phases. More than 57 per cent voters exercised their franchise in eight constituencies, which went to polls today.

In Rajasthan, where polling was held for 12 seats today, an average of 50 per cent voting was recorded.

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, 65 per cent voting was recorded in Udhampur Lok Sabha constituency.

Among the Northeastern states, Nagaland recorded over 56 per cent, Mizoram 53 per cent, Meghalaya 70 per cent and Manipur over 68 per cent votes.

Along with Lok Sabha Elections, By-polls for Vilavancode Assembly seat in Tamil Nadu and Rampur Assembly Constituency in Tripura were also held.
