The election campaign further intensified for Jalandhar Loksabha by-poll in Punjab on Saturday. Bhartiya Janta Party and Aam Aadmi Party carried road shows at Jalandhar. Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur, BJP State President Ashwani Sharma, BJP senior leaders Captain Amarinder Singh, Sunil Jakhar and others participated in the road show and sought votes for their candidate.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Punjab’s chief minister Bhagwant Mann participated in the road show of Aam Aadmi Party.

The Jalandhar Loksabha by-poll will take place on May 10. Yesterday former Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Shiromani Gurdwara Prabhandak Committee Chief Bibi Jagir Kaur extended support to the BJP.

Jagir Kaur formally extended support to the saffron party at a rally in a private resort at Jalandhar where she addressed a gathering in the presence of former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani and party candidate Inder Iqbal Atwal. Senior BJP leader Sarabjit Singh Makkar (also a former Akali) was also present on the occasion.
