Lalu dares RSS, BJP to end reservation system, after RSS chief calls for its review

The Election Commission today issued notices to RJD President Lalu Prasad and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi in connection with the FIRs registered against them for violation of the poll code during election campaign in Bihar.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer of Bihar R Lakshamanan said in Patna that the two leaders have been asked in the notices to submit their reply by October 6th.

An FIR was lodged against Mr Prasad last Tuesday for making allegedly casteist remark at a public rally in Raghopur, which the Election Commission found to be violative of election laws. Launching his campaign from Raghopur in favour of his younger son Tejaswi Yadav, the RJD supremo had described the Assembly election as a direct fight between the backward castes and forward castes. He also commented against a particular caste.

The FIR was also lodged against Sushil Modi with Bhabua police station same day for allegedly inducing voters by promising colour TVs, laptops and dhoti-saris.
