Director General of Military Operations, DGMO Lt Gen A K Bhatt spoke to his Pakistani counterpart Thursday evening and informed him of unprovoked and coordinated ceasefire violations onto Indian civilians along the Line of Control by Pakistani troops.
He said Pakistani soldiers deliberately targeted civilian villages and fired at school children while they were being evacuated.
Lt Gen Bhatt told the Pak DGMO that the action by Pakistani security forces does not behove of any Army. He said the Indian Army, as a professional force, takes due care to avoid targeting civilians and Pak Army is expected to do the same.
The Pakistani DGMO was also informed about the spate of ceasefire violations which also included caliber escalation coupled with incidents of sniping and attempted infiltration bids.
He also exhorted his counterpart to exercise strict control on his troops and instruct them to refrain from such activities.
