Deadlock continues in Parliament for 19th day

The logjam between the government and the opposition continued in Parliament for the 19th day today.
Both the Houses of Parliament adjourned for the day following opposition uproar.

In the Rajya Sabha, Opposition MPs including of AIADMK, TDP, Congress and others came into well raising slogans on different issues. Miffed over the noisy scenes, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu adjourned the House till tomorrow.

In the Lok Sabha, the scene was not different when the House reassembled at noon, members from AIADMK again trooped into the well raising slogans in support of their demand for the setting up of a Cauvery River Water Management Board.

Speaker Sumitra Mahajan repeated appeals to the members to go back to their seats but in vain. She expressed her inability to take up No Confidence Motion moved by YSR Congress, TDP, Congress and others.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar reiterated that the government is ready for discussion and accused the Congress of disrupting the proceedings.

As noisy scenes continued, the Speaker adjourned the House till tomorrow.

In the morning, AIADMK member forced the adjournment till noon. Some Congress and RJD members tried to raise the issue of the people killed during yesterday’s nation-wide protests by Dalit groups.
