Jammu and Kashmir administration has decided to suspend the Vaishno Devi Yatra besides suspending inter-state bus services from J&K till 31st of March in view of the prevailing situation emerging due to COVID-19. Talking to newsmen in Jammu yesterday, Government Spokesman Rohit Kansal urged people to contribute in tackling the situation and appealed to general public not to panic.

Giving a detailed break-up about the Corona virus suspected cases in UT of J&K till date, Rohit Kansal informed that 2,802 persons have been enlisted for observation among which 2,128 have been kept in home quarantine, 28 in hospital quarantine while as 346 are under home surveillance.

Mr Kansal added that 300 persons have completed their 28- day surveillance period. In all, 145 samples of suspected cases have been sent for testing so far, out of which 118 have been reported negative, three are positive while the report in respect of 24 is still awaited. He also appealed all religious leaders to suspend all religious gatherings till the month-end.
