BJP today rejected senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh’s claim that Home Minister Rajnath Singh had met Malegaon blast accused Pragya Thakur.

The party termed the allegations as baseless saying Mr. Singh never met her. Talking to media in New Delhi, BJP Secretary Shrikant Sharma said the Congress leader is trying to divert attention from his controversial meeting with Islamic preacher Zakir Naik by raking up such an imagined issue.

Mr. Sharma said Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi should clarify on Digvijaya Singh’s sharing dais with Naik in 2012.

Naik is in the centre of controversy following the reports that one of the five Bangladeshi youths allegedly involved in recent Dhaka terror attack was his follower.
