The West Bengal unit of BJP has demanded a seven phase assembly elections in the state when the term of the current assembly ends in 2016. Besides this the BJP has demanded that central Security Forces and a central observing officer be placed in every polling booth of the state.

The State BJP Spokersperson said this to newspersons after meeting the Chief Election commissioner Mr. Nasim Zaidi and two other Election commissioners at a hotel in Kolkata today. Along with this the party has submitted a list of officers from the state whom they want to be kept away from the process of next assembly elections for what they call their apprehension on such officers indulging in partiality towards ruling party in the state.

It may be mentioned that the Chief Election Commissioner and two other Election Commissioners Mr. AK Jyoty and Mr.Om Prakash Rawat are today in Kolkata to oversee the poll preparedness of the state and the process of updating of the electoral rolls. Those present in the BJP delegation are Mr.Shamik Bhattacharya, Mr. Azim Sarkar and Mr. Jaiprakash Mujumdar.

After this Congress and Trinamool Congress will meet the election commissioner. Different political parties, mainly belonging to the opposition are due to place video and printed evidence of what they call intimidation of the opposition by ruling party cadres and the so called atrocities perpetrated by the Trinamool congress members on members of all other political parties.
