AMN / NEW DELHI
The BJP has attacked the Congress over Non-Performing Assets of bank and said that all NPAs are related to the UPA regime.
Talking to newspersons in New Delhi on Monday, party leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said not a single loan given in the NDA rule has turned into NPA.
He alleged that entire banking system was derailed due to interference under former Prime Minister Dr Manomhan Singh.
Mr Prasad said that the UPA government did not allow correct data to be entered into bank records and advances of banks rose in that period but were not recorded in the books.
The Union Minister criticized the Congress for running a campaign of fear, confusion and concoction against the Modi government from last four year.
He said let Congress party continue to spread lies and fear, BJP will expose them and will inspire people to become fearless.
Raising the issue of UPA’s gold import scheme, Mr. Prasad said, on 16th May 2014 when Congress had lost the general elections, the then Finance Minister P. Chidambaram issued an order to provide benefits to seven private companies including Gitanjali gems.
He asked Congress President Rahul Gandhi and Mr. Chidambaram to answer the people over this favouritism.
Mr Prasad also rejected the opposition charges on Rafale deal saying the NDA government has got the best deal possible in terms of prices, weapon system and effectiveness.
