misa bhartiRJD Chief Lalu Prasad’s daughter Misa Bharti appeared before the Income Tax Department on Wednesday in connection with the over one thousand crore rupees benami property deals. Ms Bharti, who is a Rajya Sabha MP, and her husband were questioned by I-T officials for over five hours in New Delhi.

It comes a day after the IT Department provisionally attached few immovable properties in Misa Bharti benami land deal case and tax evasion case allegedly involving family members of Lalu Prasad.

A house and a piece of land in Delhi have been attached after the department issued a provisional order under the Benami Transactions Act.
Yesterday, the Income Tax Department had attached 12 plots of Ms Bharti as part of its probe in the over Rs 1,000 crore benami land deals.
I-T Department charged six family members of Lalu Prasad, including wife, son and daughters, under the new and stringent Benami Transactions Act, that came into force on November 01, 2016.

Earlier this month, Misa and Shailesh failed to appear before the department on two occasions.

Today, Misha reached the Income Tax office in New Delhi earlier where officials started questioning related to their properties and income.
