In a major jolt to the grand alliance partners and exercise of Opposition parties to field common candidate, JDU Wednesday announced its support to former Bihar Governor and NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind in Presidential election, slated for next month.
National General Secretary of JD(U) K C Tyagi, making formal announcement here after meeting of core committee of the party, told media persons that the party had decided to extend support to Mr Kovind in Presidential election, notwithstanding the fact that he was a candidate of the NDA. ” During his 22-month tenure as Bihar Governor, Mr Kovind performed well and maintained very good relation with the State Government, ” Mr Tyagi said adding in such a situation, his party had decided to extend its support to the candidature of Mr Kovind
