At the same time, the health system of these people rely on is steadily being crippled.

Dr Hasan Nairabani, the head of paediatric medicine in the Syrian city told that health facilities were already stretched to breaking point. He says children suffering horrific injuries. But he warned their health was also being undermined in another, more insidious, way. The cases of malnutrition will only worsen as the conflict intensifies.
