In a unique gesture to mark 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, Air India has depicted Sikh religious symbol ‘Ek Onkar’ on the tail of one of its aircraft. The flight is set to fly from Amritsar to Stansted in the United Kingdom in wee hours of tomorrow. Air India will fly its aircraft thrice a week on the Mumbai-Amritsar-Stansted route.

The flight which will start tonight at 11.30 P.M. from Mumbai will reach 1.30 A.M. tomorrow at Amritsar. At 3 AM, the flight will take off for Stansted in London. It will operate on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. A 256-seater Boeing 787 dreamliner aircraft will operate on the route.

The international flight will facilitate Sikh pilgrims visiting Punjab on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. The flag carrier airline will also increase the frequency of Delhi-Amritsar-Toronto flight from thrice a week to daily starting March next year.
