Afghanistan President, Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday offered peace talks with the Taliban without condition. Speaking at Kabul Process Conference, which is aimed at discussing security and political issues in Afghanistan, Ghani proposed a ceasefire and a release of prisoners, saying he would be ready to accept a review of the constitution as part of a pact with the Taliban.
About 23 countries including Pakistan are participating in the day long event.
Foreign Secretary, Vijay K Gokhale is representing India at the conference.
International bodies like the European Union, United Nations and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) are also scheduled to converge into the Afghan capital to attend the conference.
The meeting aims to secure support for an agreement to end backing of cross-border terrorism and to find a peaceful solution in ending the decades-long insurgency in Afghanistan.
Kabul, in recent times, has accused Islamabad of supporting cross-border terrorism and harbouring the Taliban.
