Defence Minister Arun Jaitley has lauded Army’s action across the LoC to counter infiltration saying such actions are needed to ensure peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a tweet, Mr. Jaitley said the government supports the actions of Indian Army across LoC. He said the Army is taking pre-emptive and measured actions to counter terrorism in the Valley and disengage Pakistani posts across LoC supporting infiltration.
Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore has termed the Indian Army’s strike at Pakistani Army posts as a strong move. In a tweet, Col Rathore said, the Army carries out punitive fire strikes across LoC to prevent infiltration.
Earlier today Indian Army said it launched punitive fire assaults on Pakistani positions across the Line of Control, inflicting some damage days after two of its soldiers were beheaded. It also released a 22 second video of the military action.
Briefing media in New Delhi, Army spokesperson Major General Ashok Narula said the Army has damaged some Pakistan Army posts in Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir recently. He said, these posts were supporting infiltrations from across the LoC.
He said, the Indian Army proactively dominates LoC to curb the infiltration and terrorism and while doing so locations aiding in infiltrations of terrorists are being targeted and destroyed.
Major Gen Narula said Army wants peace and tranquility in J&K and for this terrorism and infiltrations need to be curbed.
