Election campaign has gained momentum in five poll bound states. In Uttar Pradesh nomination process ended on Tuesday evening for the first phase of polls. Union minister Rajnath Singh’s son Pankaj Singh filed his paper from Noida. Other candidates form RLD, BJP, and BSP and SP also filed their nominations in Meerut area.
Meanwhile, fight continues unabated in the ruling SP. The party has released its list of star campaigners for the poll.
Interestingly, while the list begins with the name of Mulayam Singh Yadav, it does not mention name of Shivpal Yadav anywhere.
Amidst all the controversy, Akhilesh Yadav has started reaching out to voters, counting upon his governments 5 year work.
On the other hand, BJP has announced 3rd list of candidates with 67 names, for UP Assembly polls.
With the fresh list, total number of candidates announced in the state has gone up to 371, and only 32 more candidates remains to be announced.
The latest list has nominated Swami Prasad Maurya from Padrauna and R K Choudhary from Mohanlalganj.
Former state BJP president Surya Pratap Shahi will contest from Patthardeva and Suryabhan Singh will fight election from Sultanpur.
Meanwhile, electoral tempo is on the rise in Punjab also. Deputy CM of the state, Sukhbir Singh Badal has promised to give Ghee at Rs25 per kg and Shakkar at Rs10 per kg to voters.
Akali Dal has also announced to give 20 lakh jobs and housing for 5 lakhs homeless in the state.
On Tuesday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was in the state and he took a swipe at his opponents.
In Uttrakhand, in a major setback to the Congress party, four of its senior leader including former state general secretary Santosh Kashyap have come under BJP fold.
In Goa also election campaign has gain momentum. Union minister Anant Kumar addressed a rally in the state and sought another term for his party in the state.
AAP and Congress are also trying to impress voters in the state.
Northeast state Manipur is also gradually moving to election campaigning mode.
